20 years Stone Age Park Dithmarschen (DE)

20 years Stone Age Park Dithmarschen (DE)

On the occasion of its 20 year's jubilee, Stone Age Park Dithmarschen (DE) had a large celebration and also published a booklet. Supporters and long-lasting friends of the AÖZA in Albersdorf shed their light on the development of the archaeological open-air museum, the current status quo and plans for its future. Experts discuss the value of the project from a museum perspective, but also discuss its value for Mesolithic events or describe its influence in the regional and national press.
EXARC is included in the brochure, describing how AÖZA prove to be a survivor in the constantly changing world, partly thanks to its great variety in offer to the public. The Stone Age Park Dithmarschen has become an important cultural player in the Dithmarschen region and beyond. The brochure counts 44 pages and costs 2.00 EUR.

90,000 EUR for European Experimental Archaeology
90,000 EUR for European Experimental Archaeology

The year 2018 will be the European year for cultural heritage. Germany offered special funds to make this a memorable year. The Lake Dwelling Museum (Pfahlbaumuseum) in Unteruhldingen, one of EXARCs founding members, is between the 34 German projects which receive funding, in the Unteruhldingen case 90,000 EUR. The museum will call on its international contacts, asking if these are willing to come to the Lake Constance to explain their work to the museum public. EXARC would like to add that this is the right time for cultural institutions in Europe to prepare for applications for 2018 projects in the Creative Europe Program and the ERASMUS+ Program. We are happy to help you with your first steps, with partner search et cetera.

Podcast opportunity
Podcast opportunity

Podcasting is a great way of getting your message out. The Archaeology Podcast Network (APN) is popular and… looking for new themes to broadcast about. A typical show lasts 15 minutes. Chris Webster of the APN is eager to hear about historic houses, archaeological open-air museums, experimentation, your latest book on archaeology, you name it. This is a wonderful and fresh way of getting your message heard across the internet.
